Goanna's Java Stuff
Featuring David
Griffith's Lake and Popmemu Java Applets
Java ExamplesJava is becoming an ever increasing means of enhancing web pages.
Java is not browser specific and works on both Explorer and Netscape browsers. (Active -x only works on Explorer) Below
are excellent example of java code.
To find info on Java just find a search engine and type Java... The list will be endless.
Also try Sun Corp.
and the author of these applets , He has many more available from his site, and all authored by David. There is also an interesting article on how to make curved shores ect.. using the overlay function.. This works and looks good!!
Like the applets? Download them now.. Lake.zip Popmenu.zip
Unzip files into directory's of their own and use your browser to view readme.htm. this explains the code for the lake
applet. For popmenu extract and
read popmenu.html code. Note it is very important to use
capitals where indicated in the class name code of the applet. If they don't work.. check this first. eg
PopBtn.class and PopMenu.class
If I can work it out...so can you!!
The Lake Applet
sunset.jpg with an overlay graphic and the lake applet and then without the overlay and lake applet.
The above is a simple use of Lake, it can do much more. If you visit the applet
authors site you will see many more application of the applet. Conversely this
link takes you to the read me file that comes with
the lake applet zip file, it has much of the information at David Griffith's
site and as such is almost a mirror site, use the back button to return to this
page!
click on the image with applet and it will return you to the my Home Page
Pop Menu Applet.
The above menu is the applet PopMenu. Try it. you can insert own graphic
as a button. A useful size is approx 20x20 pixels, Much bigger and problems may occur with clearance from the text. View my page Code.. Note the Non Breaking Space before text in text value label, this provides clearance from the graphic. Value right can be made Value bottom for vertical menus
